ok I got Yogi on the 12th of Nov. and he was with his brother (couldn't get them both :( ) and I thought the way he was acting was normal due to the seperation... but its been I think 3 weeks now and he is still acting weird... he eats fine and drinks fine. but he doesn't really do anything.... I've seen him run in his wheel once. And when I got to handle him he jumps and hides at first and then once I wait 10 mins he'll come out and let me hadle him.
Is there something I should do or is this normal?

It sounds like he's just very cautious and a bit nervous, hence the jumping, but if he will come to you after that's a good sign! Is it usually not long after he has woken up that he behaves like this? if so I think some hamsters take a little longer to "come to" than others.
I think patience and perserverence are probably the key! :)

Is he a Syrian hamster? If so he will be solitary, you have to gently hand tame him.I use a cardboard roll that he/She will crawl into and let let them run into a mug on my lap with a towel folded a few times.Just put the tube down if they get scared and keep quiet. After a few weeks of this they are hand tamed.Inrtoducing the flat of your palm for them to walk on.Always works for me.You may get the odd nip, curiousity ,they are babies testing.Don't flinch.
