Hello. I have two dwarf hams (campbells) who are about six months old. They are males, housed together, generally they get along very well. I have had them for about four months.
One has what looks like wet tail, his bottom is all dirty and icky, but his activity level is normal, his food and water intake is normal, etc.
I read that studies have shown that dwarf hams do not have the same bacteria as wet tail, so that isn't what it is.
I also read that I should offer lots of water and only dry food and let it run its course, unless it is an infectious organism, then i should give it an OTC treatment.
THEN I read that OTC treatments do not work on wet tail but would they help a dwarf ham who just has diarrhea?
Please respond!!!
