I saw this movie a while ago, set in 1900ish, in America, where there is this girl who finds this black horse (maybe a stallion - can't remember) which is beaten and treated unfairly by this mean man and she is determined to tame it and let it trust her. Another thing I remember is that she also learns manners, like placing the teacup upside down then placing the teaspoon on top of the cup, followed by a saying. She also becomes friends with a blond girl.
