Hi all,
I live on a very busy street (called the Bypass for a good reason). About a month ago, I heard kittens coming from the scary lot next door (no neighbors) but I couldn’t find them. Well, coming home from work two weeks ago, I found a dead cat by my driveway, hit by a car. My thoughts immediately went to the kittens, and I checked the cat. Yep, she had been nursing. I looked for the kittens again, but still couldn’t find them.
This weekend, I heard pitiful crying from my yard, and saw a very tiny kitten wandering around. She immediately ran when I came out, and I couldn’t catch her. Well, after three days of trickery, I’ve got her! I’m assuming it’s a she, as she is kind of calico-ish.
She was wild as a banshee, but with some warm milk and a soft touch, she has quickly become a loving little girl. Quickly, as within three hours she was snuggling on my neck under my hair. Pretty good for a kitten with no human contact before now! She was covered in lord-knows-what, but she’s had a bath, and I will be getting worm medicine tomorrow. Gonna try to put some weight on her. With as emaciated as she is, I’m surprised she’s alive. I’m sure all her litter-mates have perished, but will keep looking.
Now I need to find her a home. She is very young, estimated around 5 weeks. She’s trying to eat Cajun’s dry kitten food, but not doing very well at it. She is a mix of stripes and calico-ish. Stripes on her legs, mixture of red, black, etc on her face/back, with a white chest and feet. The most gorgeous aquamarine eyes, and a pink nose. She actually looks a lot like Cajun, they look so cute snuggling!
If you want to give this beautiful kitten a home, please contact me. I live in Springfield, MO. Thanks all!
