I just wanted to be the first to post here. I have seen them on TV and in zoos, and I will be interested in reading posts about them. I heard pot bellies make very good pets.

I read that they're smarter than dogs, and rank something like 3 on the intelligence level thingy, humans are first, chimps are 2nd, and pot bellied pigs rank third- more intelligent than dogs, and then dogs rank a little lower. From what I've read, its like having a two year old around, they're extremely curious. And you know what I found odd? That theres tons and tons of PBP adoption centers, how sad is that??

I don't think Pott Bellied Pigs are 3rd, as Dolphins are supposd to be smarter. The way I understood it was that it went Humans, Chimps, Dolphins, Dogs...but Pot Bellied Pigs may just be in there between Dolphins and Dogs. Haven't heard a lot about their intelligence.

my dad's cousin has 5 pbp's, they are very sweet, and really just like big dogs.. The 2 young ones live in the house, they are very clean, but a bit clumsy.
I can try find out info from him if anybody has questions on their pigs. :)
And they are incredibly clever. I'v seen them on tv doing tricks like dogs.. his pigs have never really been trained to do anything though :(
