Hissing Hedgehog in Ohio

I just got a 9 month old male hedgie from his previous owner. When I went visit him before the buy, she said that he has hissed since he was younger. I was wondering if this is just his personality or if he wasn't given enough attention growing up? Might this be something that I can change with some love, patience and alot of gentle handling? PLEASE HELP!:bawling:

hehehe That is a tough question. The answer could be about anything. It could be just his personality, and woudl never change, or it coudl be just his upbringing or environment, or something as simple as not liking the previous owner. All you can do is hold him, spend lots of calm quiet time with him, and prove to him that you are not going to hurt him, and then see what happens with his personality in the future. Good luck!
