As some of you may know, I was having trouble with one of my albino dwarfs. I couldn't find a small animal vet to help him, I tried to help myself, but couldn't. I finally found a vet that he could go to, I was so happy! But this morning, I went to get him so he could go get help at the vet and I saw him in his nest. I tapped on the bars of his cage, and he didn't move..... he was dead. I feel so terrible:bawling: I tried to help him , I really did, but I was too late. :bawling: He was the father of one litter of babies. I still have them all , and will keep them all, so everytime I look at them, I can remember him. There's even a little albino one just like him.

Rest In Peace Snoop Ham
I will always love and remember you my sweet little baby...

So sorry :(

Had a beloved Syrian die in September, Princess. The thread is still up in this forum. She must have had a stroke - she was normal and then within five minutes was dead. :bawling:

We never can be sure why they die sometimes: stroke, heart attack, tumor, general organ failure, etc. It is the nature of rodents. On March 17th a lovely "Panda bear" Syrian, born last Jan. 9th, Peter, suddenly became lethargic, started staggering around, falling into uncosciousness, and in a few hours was gone. He seemed very healthy until then, and the rest of his siblings from that litter are still here and healthy. (?).

I posted photos of Princess. Any photos of yours?

Im so so sorry. I hope you will never forget about him. My Syrian died on November 22, 2003 and I still remember every single day.:bawling: His name was Junior and was my first ham. I have two dwarfs to help me ease of the pain of losing him. There names are Beijou and Dusty. They are very cute. I hope you will love his litter as much as I can tell you loved him. Just remember he is up there in hamster heaven right now looking down at you and his litter remembering.

I know. It would be nice if they could. But then again, if they didn't go to heaven, the world would be even more over run with unwanted animals. It's a nice thought though......... :bawling:

A neighbor and friend's lovely yellow labrador retriever, age 13, who we all knew and loved, had to be euthanized yesterday. Everyone who knew Jerry, the dog, is in tears.

But what can we do? Nothing. Except find another lonely animal who needs help. :(
