My mom had turtles when she was little. Her dad took her on vaction and left her brother home to watch the turtles. He lost them and they never found them. He went to replace the carpet in that room. He found them under the carpet! :wacko:

One of mine escapes ever so often and usually ends up behind the refrigerator!

Um ... that is kind of a really horrible story then. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong ... but this is a forum for animal support ... not stories about animal cruelty and irresponsibility. Turtles are valuable creatures ... to allow one die underneath a carpet is about as low as you can go.

Ya I agree with elf that is really sad and the last thing i wanted to read ...but i guess not everyone loves these wonderfull creatures as much as I do and boy are they missing out .
