Way too big!

I just bought a cage for my hamster, but I didn't realize that it was for bigger animals. I still put it together and my hamster loves it. It is three storys and the wheel is huge!!!!!! :eek: :eek: I didn't realize I got the wrong cage till I put it together and it was so big.

That is actually a good thing. You can never have too much room for hamsters. Was this a Crittertrail cage?

No, it was one of thoose My first home for critters thing.
It said it was for sugar gliders and rats so I thought it would work for my hammy.

How big is the wheel?


An 8 1/2 inch wheel (diameter) is ideal for a hamster.

You might want to replace the wheel. It's probably too big for one and for another it's probably one of those wire ones and they aren't good for your hamster either. But way to go on the big cage, accident or not.

It said is was a gaint wheel and I asked someone when we came back to the store. He said the wheel was ideal for a cinchilla.
