I need help to convince my dad to let me have a drawf hamster. Do you guys (or girls) know swomething I could say to him that would make him change his mind. I really want a drawf hamster and I've heard that they're great pets, but my dad doesn't beleave that. My mom said she wou;d let me get one if my dad said yes. I'm counting on you guys (and girls) to help me. I've never had one so I don't know what they're like and what to say.

Oh, please help!  Please!

Well u can start of by doing all your chores, getting good grades and being a responsible person you are. Get a lot of books on hamsters from library, read them, then show to your parents pros and cons about them. Show how cute they are and easy to take care of. I had dwarfs throughout my whole life, and generally speaking they make good pets. Sometimes they tend to be more agressive then larger hams, but not all. Also because theyre so small, u need a sturdy cage with small spacing, because I had my hams squeeze through and run away out of tiniest hole. I really like habitrail one, it has plastic bottom so shavings wont fall out and bar spacing is small.
Dwarfs are very fun to watch especially if u get those tubes they can climb in, and one thing I found to be true for most dwarfs, if well taken care of, they ussually live good, healthy life with no illnesses, and some live longer than expected.
Good luck! :rainbow:

As was said already, prove your responsibility by focusing on your homework and household chorse (don't let your parents have to argue with you to do something, just do it). If you have a job, or get a good sum of money from your allowance, save it up. Look around in stores, in newspapers, and online for how much a cage, food and supplies, etc. will cost to own a hamster. Add up the amount and tell your parents you will save up for it and buy it. If you don't get enough allowance to buy a cage and whatever, ask your parents if you can do EXTRA chorse (clean the care, mow the lawn, rake the lawn, clean your little brother's room, etc.) for some extra cash. In a month or so when you get enough money save, show her WHERE you can buy the stuff and the PRICES and tell her you want to pay for the hammy.

Remember not to fight with your parents on this subject. Its VERY hard for parents to decide whether or not to let their child keep a pet (most children are already overwhelmed with school work and chorse and friends) Your parents are having just as much trouble trying to decide whether or not to let you keep a pet as you are trying to prove you can. Be calm and rational, don't scream and yell if your parents say no, etc., etc. Good luck! :-)

As far as I'm considered. most adults would be happier with small and furry pets - I am.

But I don't have dwarfs.

Good luck.

You guys helped me alot, but I can't get one this year because we're going on a cruise for my birthday and three hamsters will be too much for my friend to take care of.

(It would ectally be four becuase she has one herself.) She has a girl and I have all boys.) My friend doesn't have a very big house eather.)
