loving homes for bunnies needed
Hi. I'm writing in this forum in the hopes that loving homes may be found for my bunnies. I have four rabbits, 2 pairs of bonded rabbits. They are all quite small, two being lops, one a netherland dwarf, and the other being a dwarf-magpie mix. They are all really great rabbits. But because I'm forced to relocate overseas, I won't be able to take them with me. If you live in or near Ontario, Canada, and would be interested in raising rabbits, please let me know.

I hope that you find loving homes for your little ones. I am in Oregon, and that is just a little too far, or I would be more than happy to take them in for you. Let us know when they have been placed. I have read so many posts and wondered how things turned out for the folks. Marianne

Thanks for your concern. Yes, it would be nice if you lived closer. I haven't received any replies yet. The last thing I want to do is take the buns to the Humane Society shelter or back to the pet store. I've just seen and heard too many horror stories about those places.

The rabbits really are precious to us but we have to give them up because we are moving overseas. It's amazing that all four of them have distinct personalities. They are all of the dwarf variety, meaning fairly small.
Piggy and Minnie are bonded. Piggy is a neutered male lop. He is white with beige markings: a small streak down his back, his velvety ears, and a beauty mark beside his nose. He is extremely docile when you hold him and as his name suggests loves to eat. This is strange because he ended up sort of living up to his name. Minnie is a brown dutch dwarf rabbit that's been spayed. She's very curious and active and is extremely playful. She's always jumping and hopping. The other pair of bonded rabbits are Buggy and Toby. We've kept them apart from the other two because we bought them later and haven't the heart to go through all the fighting again. Buggy is quite unique. He is a magpie lop male. Even though he is fully grown, he still looks like a baby with his big head. He is quite unique in that he never chews the carpet or at any furniture or wires. He is a sweetheart. Toby is a mixed magpie (I was told). Her ears stick up and she looks in my opinion like a small Harlequin rabbit. She is definitely the most affectionate bun among the lot. She'll scamper over to you begging to be petted. If you're sitting on the ground, she'll make her way between your legs and lie down or roll over in her safe sanctuary! She is superior to Buggy which is why she never allows Buggy to mate with her. She honks at him which scares Buggy away. That's why we never really took them to the vet for their operations. We had a bad experience with Piggy with his operation. We paid $50 more for our buns' operations for a test to see whether they they had any adverse reactions to the anesthesic. The needle gave Piggy a bruise (guess he was kicking and being uncooperative) which took a while to heal. But he's better now. If you're interested in any of the rabbits, I could post pictures of them. They are all adorable and we'll miss them terribly. |
