Our new pig! + pic
Hi Everyone...
Seems my computer is acting up as this is the third time I have tried to post this. So this third version will be short and sweet. This is our new pig We have had her 24 hours now, she came from a less than ideal home. ( note collar marks on her neck). We are currently trying to decide on a name for her. She is 4.5 months old and very sweet. We plan on keeping her indoors and will be getting her spayed asap. I have to admit, I never thought I would tell a freind on the phone " I need to get going, I gotta walk the pig"

Ok a few more details. My husband and I rescue Basset Hounds. We are consistently amazed how much the pig and the hounds are alike. Stubborn, smart, loving and always on a mission. This is our first pig. We have had a few pygmy goats before.and it turns out they are nothing alike.
In all honesty, I am not even real sure how we got the pig. We went to arrange a tow truck for my poor broken car and the next thing I know we have a pig. The gal that had her has been trying to "get rid of her" for 2 months. A crash course on the web has taught us alot and I have to admit the hardest part is not giving into the begging, so far. She does a potty dance when she wants out, goes out , does her business and comes for a treat. She has yet to potty in the house. Our dogs were not this easy to house break. Having never had a pig before, I don't know if we simply have an exceptional good pig or if this is standard. Either way, we are all pretty happy. |

That's awesome, congratulations on your new pet! She looks beautiful. I know nothing about pigs except that they are apparently as smart as dogs, so it doesn't suprise me that you could train her as easily as one! I hope that things continue to go well for you with her

Ohh she is such a cutie, and so very lucky to have you.
So why do you think the collar marks are on her? Did you see how they had he tied up or anything? That is awful. Well if you have any questions or just want to talk piggy. I'm here for you and your new piggy. Looks like she is all set with her harness and she is sooo adorable. I have a 2 year old, he will be 2 in Febuary and we are attached at the hip. Pigs are the best companions. They are very intelligent and quite a character, they add love, fun and hope to your home. They are always hoping for a treat, hehe |
