Trainer?

We have a 11 week old pot belly pig and it seems like no matter how many times we tell it...it just doesn't get what we are trying to tell it to do. Any other suggestions on how to train it. ie. We tell it to get down off table, bed, or couch. It just looks at us then keeps doing it. Even if we use a empty paper towel roll to tap it on its nose. Is just keeps doing it.
We tried using food and it doesn't work.

What can we do?

the worst punishment as far as a pig is concerned is to be put by itself. Actually move the pig (off the furniture) when you tell it and if it keeps doing it, put it by itself for a while. It should quickly learn that when you move the pig, you mean business and to keep doing it means playtime will be over.

hmmm...I use a soft slipper to correct my piggie and for some reason that seems to work. If she is being really naughty we send her to her room and she always behaves, at least for a while, after she is allowed to come back out with us. (be ready to hear some "yelling" though if you confine her!) I was told to use a spray bottle with water in it but that didn't work at all with mine, but maybe it would work for you. As far as potty training...how are you doing it now? I use newspapers at the back door. She is usually very good...but she does have her days when she has accidents on the throw rugs that I have...sometimes I swear she does it on purpose! They are very smart (usually too smart for OUR own good!!!) I'm hoping that getting her spayed will help her to "behave" better Good luck with your piggie...don't give up on her...she may be testing you and they are very persistant creatures!!! LOL
