I know nothing about breeding, but I can tell you that you should do a search on this forum on this topic-there are a lot of great website links and info on here...are you very experienced with hamsters? on one of the threads about breeding there are a list of questions you need to ask yourself before you even think about breeding-apparently it can be very tricky...

well, could you wait until you are a little older to breed? there is no money to be made. what sort of a support system do you have in case things go wrong? would a parent help you? if the mom doesn't, for whatever reason, feed them are you prepared to stay up all night doing it by hand? please please please do a search on this subject-it will prove very valuable to you!

Lisa-
Thanks for your concern but i've done a lot of research and my Dad is an experienced pet breeder, so he is willing to help me with any problems. The last time my hammie had babies it was during the summer and she didnt care for the runt so i did have to stay up pretty late feeding it. we use kitten milk for the runts. and the baby ended up growing pretty normal and we were able to find a home for it. thanks again for your concern Theresa ~~PeTs PuT pAw PrInTs In OuR HeArTs FoR FOREVER~~ |

Your girl is very young. I would wait tell she is 4 months old. If your hamster gets to be over 6 months of age and has not already had a litter, PLEASE DO NOT BREED HER! At 6 months if a female has not had a litter their hips fuse togeather. Then if she gets pregnant she cant pass the babies and it will kill both her and the babies.
