Personally I think western is easier. I don't like english. I only ride western and bareback. But differerent styles suit different people.
You would probably have to try them both and then see what one you like best.

People tend to think Western is easier because the saddle tends to cradle your butt and hold you on the horse more. (Which is why they use western saddles on trail rides and for beginners)
English riding prepares you to hold your own balance in the saddle without anything to hold on to. It is more difficult, but once you learn your seat, you can stay on the horse without grabbing a saddle horn or reins, just using your muscles in your legs.

Ok this is all new to me, but how is western different from English, is it just the way you ride? or the clothing you wear? my guess is that for English you wear jodhpurs and breeches and for Western you wear cowboy boots and chaps..? i dunno...
I think i'm doing English, its kinda hard but I'm getting better at it..

If your taught both properly, they are about equally difficult. The equipment is different in Western than in English and the sports are different. The basics are the same though, you've got to move with the horse no matter what he's doing in both styles.
