Hi all, we just adopted a pot bellied pig who is about 10 years old....and her poor hooves are horrid! They are long and curled, and she has a hard time moving around. She's a happy, healthy girl and we would clip the things, but she is VERY uncooperative about it. She is a very large girl...(I think she may have regular pig in her), and she'll try and bite us if she thinks we are going to clip her hooves. The vet came out to our house once before and tried to clip them, and it took a lot of us to turn her on her back (which was just awful) and the vet could only clip one hoof. My question is, is there any kind of...safe piggy sedative, or calmer that could help my girl relax so clipping her hooves would be no problem? Does anyone have similar problems? What can I do?
